This picture is an example of the general public being racist towards African Americans, not MGA entertainment, or Toys R Us. The customer "fun" rating for the doll is the lowest possible for the African American, and the best for the blonde doll. Even though there is nothing different about the dolls besides the color, something drove the customers to give the dolls completely different fun ratings. Classic stereotypical racism is imprinted into youngsters minds even before they realize what being racist or racism actually is/means. I recall watching a video in psychology class when researchers showed children (black and white) dolls that were both black and white. The researchers then asked which doll was the good one and the bad one; the results were pretty consistent throughout both races responding with: the black one is the bad one, and the white one is the good one. So from this we can see that children of a young age already have racial stereotypes, especially towards African Americans. This example through the customer ratings also goes through the parents because the children themselves probably can't rate something on the internet. So the parents are either racist, or they saw through their children that they honestly did not enjoy the African American doll, and extremely enjoyed the white one.
