Auntie Lil

My day is normally pretty packed with a lot of things schedule. Nannying for two different families, class, work, not to mention studying. But as cheesy at is it, there is one family that keeps me running all day, and the root of it all comes from here:

The person on the left is my sister, and the right is my brother-in-law. For Halloween three years ago, they decided to go to their party as an "accident". Why? Because this 7 year long relationship was expecting a surprise baby.

There has been no one in my life that I have ever respected, cared about, and loved more than my sister. We are ten years apart in age, which has made her my roll model. My nephew was born in February of 2010. Through the pain and the complications while at the hospital, I had grown a lot closer to my sister. I started to watch my nephew for a few hours each week, and progressively has turned in to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday currently. I took a class on child development specifically so I could become a better nanny. He has helped me realize that I want to go into nursing with kiddos from the Newborn Intensive Care Unit after having him there. The best part about all of it, is I get to help raise my nephew, whom's mom is my biggest role model. It has given us a whole new dimension of a sisterhood that we never had before.

They've grown into quite the family:

  1. My brother has a niece who is currently 2 and a half whom I babysit twice a week. I completely understand where your desire to go into working with newborns. Something about the responsibility combined with the fact that you can shape a human life is extraordinarily empowering. You also learn a lot about who you are as a person when you're passing along life lessons.
