Camping

As I was sitting in a friends dorm room after class on Thursday, I was thinking about how different people get their reactions from the influences that they grew up with. My friend was sitting there, watching a new TV show on MTV called "Man Tips." I started to watch it as well, and as I did so I realized that this could be a good piece to write about, so here it goes.
The part of the show that I am going to write about, entitled "Camping," is about why some men go camping, and why others do not. The more they start to talk, they are telling about that mostly white males go camping, where as black males do not. This is the romantic part that stood in my mind while I was thinking about this, because it in my experiences in camping I have seen a very limited number of African Americans out camping. The reasons behind why certain people do and do not go camping are not the typical ones that would come into my mind, for example black people are concerned about getting their shoes dirty. As they are discussing this, I am thinking about "Skuffing your kiks" and other quotes that I only hear in mass representation by black people.

The romantic that is being portrayed in this article is very obviously skewed toward the male's who go camping in America. Although this may be true, the points that are made are correct. Over time, the main Americans who are going to go camping are the white Americans who live in cities and have lost a connection to the outdoors. They feel that this is a way to reconnect with nature, and other bodies, black Americans, do not feel that very same need.
